The Woodstock Legacy
Our story begins around 1853 when the Stuchbery family arrived in Australia. Family legend tells of Susan Stuchberry giving birth to a son while awaiting departure from Plymouth. She named him after their ship—Woodstock—linking our family name to a spirit of new beginnings and adventure.
Tim Stuchbery: Continuing the Tradition
Tim’s journey in construction began in childhood, learning alongside his father, Alex, and his grandfather, a skilled tram builder in the day.
Tim’s expertise was shaped by:
– Hands-on experience from an early age
– Discussions about building challenges around the family dinner table
– Education at a local Technical School
– Completion of a Certificate III in Carpentry
– Licensed Building Practitioner
As Tim’s building and construction was shaped by his fathers teachings, to honour this legacy, he established Alex Woodstock Building Services.
The name Alex Woodstock often confuses people, so we also operate under another entity of Woodstock Building Services (Vic) to make things simpler
Fun fact: If you accidentally address Tim as Alex, don’t worry—he’s used to it and will still be ready to assist you!
