The homeowners chose composite decking specifically for its low maintenance finish, no annual staining, no sealing, no upkeep. Two years on it looks as good as the day it was completed. The frameless glass balustrade was a deliberate design decision to ensure nothing obstructed the stunning Warrandyte bush views. The result is an outdoor space that gets used every day.
Project Warrandyte Decking Extension
This deck had served its purpose for over thirty years and was well past the point of repair. Rather than patch over a failing structure, Woodstock Building Services rebuilt it from the ground up the right way.
The new deck was constructed using BAL rated treated timber framing, meeting the bushfire attack level requirements for the Warrandyte area. The decking surface was finished with premium composite decking boards, chosen specifically because the homeowners wanted a beautiful low maintenance finish that required no annual staining or sealing. The result is a structure that is both bushfire compliant and stunning to look at, standing up to Melbourne’s variable weather without deteriorating.
The balustrade was constructed using a frameless glass panel system with a stainless steel handrail, allowing the breathtaking Warrandyte bush views to remain completely unobstructed. The clean, modern finish of the frameless glass complements the surrounding bush setting perfectly. Sitting on this deck you feel completely connected to the landscape.
All plans and permits were obtained and managed by Woodstock Building Services before any work commenced, ensuring full compliance with Victorian building regulations and Australian Standards.

What strikes you most about this space is how it feels rather than what was done to achieve it. The connection between the kitchen, dining area and the bush outlook beyond creates a sense of calm that was simply not there before. It is the kind of transformation that makes you want to spend more time at home.
Dining Area Extension and Kitchen Remodel Warrandyte
The homeowners wanted to extend their existing kitchen and dining area to create a more open and connected living space. What started as a layout problem became a beautifully resolved structural transformation.
The project involved the removal of two internal walls and the installation of a structural steel beam, with full temporary propping of the existing structural walls throughout the process. New footings and subfloor work were completed to support the extended floor area.
Large double glazed windows were installed to bring the outside in, framing the unobstructed bush outlook and flooding the new dining space with natural light. The result is a bright, open and functional living area that completely changed how the family uses their home every day.
All plans and permits were obtained and managed by Woodstock Building Services, with the project completed to Australian Standards under a single fixed price contract.

What this space delivers above everything else is a genuine sense of retreat. The full height ceiling created by repitching the roof completely transforms how the room feels to be in. The double glazed sliding windows bring the bush into the room during the day and allow fresh air through at night without compromising security or weatherproofing. The ensuite, walk in robe and adjoining deck make this a self contained living space within the home — not just a bedroom.
Upper Storey Bedroom Rebuild Warrandyte
This project was a complete transformation of an upper storey room that had limited headroom and poor functionality. The existing roof was removed and repitched in the opposite direction, creating full height livable space throughout the entire room.
The rebuild included a brand new ensuite, walk in robe and a deck to the outside with stunning city views with genuine indoor to outdoor flow.
The exterior cladding was fully upgraded to BAL 29 compliance, meeting the bushfire attack level requirements for the Warrandyte area. Double glazed sliding windows were installed throughout, designed to be easily removed for cleaning and opened fully to allow fresh summer breezes through at night.
The staircase was relocated and remodelled to improve access to the upper level, and new lighting was installed throughout the completed space. Every element was carefully designed and built to Australian Standards by Woodstock Building Services.

A laundry is rarely the most glamorous space in a home but when it works well you notice it every single day. The addition of proper bench space, cabinetry and direct garage access turned what was a frustrating room into one of the most practical spaces in the house. The new toilet added genuine everyday convenience that the household now wonders how they lived without.
Laundry Extension Warrandyte
Completed at the same time as the dining area extension, this laundry project transformed a tired and undersized space into a fully functional room that works hard for the household.
The extension required new footings, subfloor work and full plumbing for a new toilet and laundry trough. New cabinetry and a generous benchtop workspace were installed to make the most of the available floor area. Internal access to the garage was also created as part of the works, adding everyday convenience for the homeowners.
All plans and permits were obtained and managed by Woodstock Building Services, with the project completed to Australian Standards under a single fixed price contract.
